There are two qualities in a restaurant that are guaranteed to win over any customer: good food and good people. Over in the Delano District, you will find just that in a French bakery on west Douglas. They’re a popular little spot that’s been around for over three decades now in Wichita. People literally drive from all parts of the state to pick up their pastries and desserts. But this review will cover much more because La Galette French Bakery is not just about the desserts. There’s a whole lot more going on!

The first thing though that catches your eyes is the display of desserts. Don’t be overwhelmed by it all. The guys working that afternoon were able to answer any and all questions customers had about what felt like every single one. They were able to make suggestions, explain what each dessert was made of, and give a little back story of some of the desserts. I love hearing restaurant owners and staff talking about their food. I’m no cook so learning about what goes into each one is really fascinating to me.

Excellent French baked goods Wichita, Kansas by Alain Galette and LA Galette French Bakery: After glancing through the desserts, I started lunch off backwards and ordered the St. Tropez for starters. Most people end their meals with dessert, I wanted to change things up that afternoon. The picture doesn’t do the dessert true justice. While very similar to a cake, this rich cream-filled brioche gets its name from its hometown of origin, St. Tropez, France. The guys over at La Galette told me you can’t find this dessert anywhere else in town. It’s unique to La Galette and it’s simply splendid. It’s also one of the most popular desserts there. After eating it, I contemplated cancelling my lunch order and getting more dessert but common sense one that day.

If you thought their desserts were good, just wait until you try their lunch menu. My friend went with their lunch special which was the Southwest chicken over rice along with chicken and rice soup (Yes, he must be a big fan of chicken and rice). He thought both were fantastic and was amazed how good the food was given it was his first time ever at La Galette. The portion size he received was more than enough as well.

I had the pastrami sandwich served in a croissant as recommended by the staff along with the lentil soup. I was hesitant at first because I felt the croissant would just fall apart while eating but that wasn’t the case. It’s the only way to go when you order a sandwich. It was a great sandwich with plenty of meat. The Lentil soup was served hot and was delicious.

Before ordering the sandwich, I was back and forth on whether to go with the sandwich or the Quiche. Since I ordered the sandwich, I went back the very next day and ordered their seafood Quiche and a fattouch salad.

The seafood Quiche was possibly the best I’ve ever had; nice generous heaping of seafood such as crab inside that didn’t have me second-guessing my order. The fattouch salad was as expected a highly piled stack of lettuce. It was certainly lighter tasting than most other fattouch around town; maybe it was the dressing as it didn’t have much on it.

Regardless two different visits to La Galette and both were big wins. The only real negative of the place is that they are just open for lunch but don’t expect that to change.

Premium French sandwiches & quiches Wichita, KS with LA Galette French Bakery and Alain Galette: The other huge positive besides the food is the people. Everybody there is SOOOOOO incredibly friendly and just as knowledgeable on the menu. Every person who walked in received a greeting and every person who left received a thank you. It’s the small things like that which can really help a restaurant thrive. Others should take note.

Add La Galette to your rotation of restaurants. You’ll be glad you did.

How much do you indulge your sweet tooth? It’s not every day that you visit a french bakery in Kansas, but when you do, you’ll want pastries like these. Have you tried this Wichita bakery before? Order the lunch special and pick out your dream come true. Welcome to La Galette French Bakery, an oasis of pastries in the city. Before we get to the pastries themselves, we should also mention that they make amazing lunches that vary from sandwiches to soups and other light fare. If you haven’t had fresh macarons before, now’s the best time to try them. They’ve got more than a couple flavors, but prepare to want more!

BC Indigenous Housing Society is a registered charity and non-profit society. The BCIHS is governed by an all-Indigenous Board of Directors and employs approximately 100 people. Founded in 1984, we currently manage a portfolio of 21 buildings and over 900 units, supporting over 1,300 Indigenous individuals and families. BCIHS works in partnership with federal and provincial government agencies to subsidize tenant rent contributions and achieve affordability for individuals and families.

Why would BC contemplate giving such extraordinary power to Indigenous groups, if it is not premised on Canada’s already exceptional recognition of Indigenous rights in our constitution? The answer is the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). While not a treaty or international convention, and while not legally binding under either international law or Canadian law, it is the beacon against which BC is charting its Indigenous reconciliation course. This is reflected in the 2019 Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act through which government mandated itself to review all of BC’s laws and determine where changes should be made to give effect to UNDRIP. These amendments would go much further than the Supreme Court of Canada’s rulings based on the recognition of Aboriginal rights set out in s. 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982. While the Supreme Court has issued many decisions making clear Indigenous groups hold certain special rights, including the right to be consulted before decisions are made that could affect them, the Court has repeatedly stated that they do not have a veto over Crown land decision-making.

Premium apartment for investment services Istanbul

Real estate property services Turkey today: Istanbul comprises 39 municipalities, with 24 in the European section and 15 in the Asian section. The city’s unique position provides it with the Black Sea and Sea of Marmara coastlines, in addition to the iconic Bosphorus Strait. Istanbul also boasts two lakes, Kucukcekmece and Buyukcekmece, ensuring that many areas offer sea or lake views. This has contributed to the growing significance of maritime transport, especially since the city’s unplanned expansion often results in congestion during peak hours. Sea taxis and public maritime transport alleviate this pressure, while the constantly expanding public transportation network, both above and below ground, further improves mobility. Sometimes, there are offers for commercial properties as a form of change without clarifying that this type of investment is suitable only in the long term. Furthermore, the continuous devaluation of the Turkish lira makes long-term lease contracts a diminishing source of investment, even if they start with attractive figures like 7%, they will end after five years with a return that does not exceed 2%. We do not recommend these types of investments, as there are certainly better options in the market. However, we must clarify the reality behind these presented offers. Sometimes, there are offers for pre-owned apartments or even villas at prices lower than the prices of new properties. These opportunities may be suitable only for those who seek permanent residence, and their percentage among foreigners who own properties in Turkey does not exceed 2%. As for investment, even if you furnish them anew and achieve an initially impressive return of 8%, this return will be eroded over time due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the dollar. The greater disaster is your inability to resell your property later when you want to end your investment.

Choose properties in cities with high demand, such as Istanbul, and avoid other cities where resale possibilities are nearly impossible. Even in Antalya and the southern coast, despite high demand for vacation homes, the likelihood of resale with a substantial profit is very low. The earlier a property is in the construction process, the greater the expected capital appreciation upon completion, but the risks are also higher at the same time. If the property lacks investment advantages that set it apart from neighboring properties in terms of price per square meter or other existing or future amenities, it fails to fulfill the primary investment principle of uniqueness.

Beware of scams that are often designed not to steal your money directly but to make unrealistic promises that cannot be fulfilled in reality, such as a guaranteed 10% permanent rental return or profits of up to 300% within two years, and so on. Be cautious of offers that come with a gift wrap, as they are often (but not always) a deception, such as a guarantee of renting apartments for three years in regular apartments. What happens after those three years? Or offers like buying land near the Istanbul Canal and selling it at double the current price after two years. Be aware that if the square meter price actually increases, the abundance of such offers will prevent you from achieving the desired profit. Or offers like buying two apartments for $400,000 in total, claiming they are suitable for Turkish citizenship.

There are many real estate companies that are working to provide quality in all its services for those wishing to buy property in Turkey, which is working to strengthen the sources of information and you can inquire about these companies at the investment section of your embassy in Turkey to make sure that the company is good. Unfortunately, many people believe that there are cheap properties in Istanbul. This is not true. There are no cheap properties in Istanbul. We can call them lower quality properties. Many real estate companies that are interested in selling only are responsible for marketing this Illusion to its customers in order to increase sales only.

Even though Istanbul has always been one of the major cities of the world, both historically and in modern times, it is still an infant of the globe’s real estate market. Neglected for many years because of a dismal economy, lack of financing and credit, as well as substandard urban infrastructure, it wasn’t until the turn of the century that the government started to modernise the real estate market of Turkey to bring it inline with other destinations of the world. The result is that buyers are cashing in while it is still young and overall, property anywhere in Turkey has enormous potential when it comes to capital growth. According to the stat crunching portal Numbeo, prices per square meter in London range from 677% to 862% higher than Istanbul.

Istanbul, Turkey tourism is one of the top reasons to invest in Turkey. The Galata Tower offers beautiful views of the city. It is located just North of the Golden Horn in the Galata Quarter. We stayed in an apartment looking right up at this tower and it was breathtaking. It is 9 stories high with a restaurant cafe and nightclub. You can take tours up to view the city. There’s a great square at the base of the Galata Tower where you can enjoy some Turkish Coffee and Turkish Delight while people watching on the terrace.

What is the reason for the failure of real estate investment in Istanbul for some clients? We mentioned at the beginning of the article that the real estate market in Turkey in general and in Istanbul in particular is witnessing a great prosperity, and this prosperity is accompanied by the entry of hundreds of inexperienced real estate consultants who rely on playing with the feelings of the client and misleading him by offering non-investment offers as the best investment in Istanbul (such as buying 6 Apartments at the price of Turkish citizenship, or buying a large commercial store in a remote area, buying an old independent house, or buying agricultural or residential land, so that its price will multiply hundreds of times when the new Istanbul Canal is established).
