Activities for autistic kids and guides for parents

Activities for autistic teens and advices for parents? A parent can help their child learn across the curriculum by using their special interest. For example, a student who is interested is space could work on a project in which they learn about early scientists who developed the solar system (history), write about the importance of space exploration (English, science) and design a new space station (maths, art). Technology-aided instruction can help students on the autism spectrum learn a range of skills. It can also help them understand task requirements, communicate their concerns and complete tasks.

While the number of children with other developmental disabilities has remained constant over the last decade, according to the nonprofit organization Families for Early Autism Treatment, the amount of children with autism in K-12 schools around the United States has increased by more than 100 percent. This means educators are dealing with unique student issues that they may not have seen in years past and responding to problems they may not yet have had experience with. Following are some examples of the challenges that K-12 students with autism face.

Considering their skill sets and behavior, they are encouraged to be involved in individual sports. These types of sports do not require much social communication and there is lesser demand placed in their sensory systems when engaged in them. Although multiple sensory systems are still activated and sports events may seem too much to process, these Autistic teens can have interventions that focus on the desensitization of sensory systems to avoid sensory meltdowns. Read more info on Mike Alan.

At times, autistic children struggle to process too much information at one time. This leads to sensory overload and will prevent them from being able to communicate. There are a few things you can do to help in these situations: Keep the non-verbal communication at a minimum level. For example, do not force or provide direct eye contact if you notice it is causing angst or anxiety, PECs boards and pictures are a great way to help when verbal communication is not possible. If your child is young, providing educational toys for toddlers as a distraction is a good wat to help them calm. For older children, sensory tools are also a great option. Another tip for better communicating with Autistic children is to pause between words. Do this if you notice they need some time to find a response.

Compare this, however, with what it might be like to have children with motor planning or social challenges that limit their participation in sports, to never being invited to birthday parties, or to dealing with stares and snickering from other children when you go out for pizza. When you post in an effort to commiserate with other parents, consider the benefits of building community with parents of neurotypical children against the costs of possibly alienating your friends with autistic children; is this a problem your friends with autistic children would “love” to have (e.g., “my child talks all the time!”) or is it perhaps one they can sympathize with (e.g., a scare at the doctor’s office)? Your friends with autistic children probably recognize you have legitimate struggles, but if you do the work of weighing and comparing what you face and the daily struggles they face, that work will show.

Learn at your own speed with help from Bilingual Audio Books

Study at your own speed with help from Bilingual Audio Books: Get educated even with a tight budget! Online education helps you to save on costs like fuel, parking, books, child care, and more. And since so many of these programs are self-paced, they can offer you the opportunity to graduate in less time than a traditional program. Less time spent in college equals lower educational costs. Plus, many online degrees have lower tuition fees. Online courses help you become tech-savvy: Distance-learning programs make use of sophisticated technology to provide education. By accessing study material electronically, submitting assignments via websites, and participating on online forums to interact with professors and classmates on a day-to-day basis, you can become more technologically savvy than your classroom counterparts.

Try to choose at least some books that have more idiomatic language to increase your ability to know and use lingo appropriately. One way to do this is to choose contemporary titles rather than classics. It’s more likely that a current bestseller set in the present will contain more current idioms than a book written in the last century! Classics are still a great way to go with bilingual texts, especially since they tend to be so widely translated and easier to find in bilingual format-just make sure to mix it up a bit.

Learn new languages the easy way and bilingual audio books : Of course, it’s never too late to learn something new, but according to studies, children do best when introduced to other languages early on. In fact, research shows that babies start learning language sounds in utero and can distinguish between their mother’s language and another language from birth! So, little kids are well-prepared to learn a second language. Bilingual skills help children acquire problem-solving skills.

If money is available for purchasing audiobooks, it is important for librarians and teachers to do their homework before buying. Single-author unabridged audiobooks tend to be the best, though some dramatizations (such as Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy, read by the author with a cast of more than 40 British actors) can be excellent. There are many sources of audiobook reviews readily available online, including School Library Journal. [Note: The Association for Library Service for Children also publishes an annual Notable Children’s Recordings list.] Read extra info at Study from home with BilingualAudioBooks.

Enjoy the Trip. Reading good books and visiting the natural places, both are your passions. You may not take the pleasure of good books on tour. Do not be panic; now you have audiobooks. No matter, you are in hilly area or jungle, or town, you may enjoy the books. Learn Accurate Pronunciation. Speaking accurate pronunciation is a big problem for international students. That is why; many students do not speak in the class. They suffer from the inferiority complex. Audiobooks are very helpful to learn pronunciation. Students should have access to audiobooks in the classroom.

Reduces working-memory deficit. Students who struggle with decoding and the mechanics of reading spend so much time focusing on sounding out the words that it is difficult for them to retain the information they are reading. By eliminating the focus on decoding they are now able to retain, remember, and understand the content. When students begin reading with their ears, they start building their working memory. This helps them respond to questions about the text more readily. The more often this happens, the more confident a student gets around the one subject that has plagued them, reading. Building working memory helps make other reading tasks easier and improves reading ability.

Why a Bilingual AudioBook? The BABook makes learning languages easy, pleasant and interesting. You listen to a sentence or a paragraph in a language, then you listen to the same sentence or paragraph in another language. You learn the easy way, listening to short novels of genres you like. According to the nivel of your students, you choose which language to give them to listen to first: if they are well advanced, play the language they are learning first, and the recording in their mother tongue allows them to check their understanding. For the beginners (or students who are moderately dedicated to their studies!) better to play their mother tongue first. Find additional info at https://bilingualaudiobooks.com/.

Best online dictionaries

As compared to print dictionaries, the font size of online dictionaries is far more legible. People don’t have to strain their eyes when they are looking up a word in an online dictionary. A great benefit of using online dictionaries is that they are multifunctional. Print dictionaries have limited space so they cannot go into extra detail regarding every word. Online dictionaries, on the other hand, have the ability of providing a wealth of information that’s related with the word such as its synonyms, antonyms, sentences, slang words etc. This information can prove to be highly useful.

Print dictionary advantages: “With print dictionaries, students learn alphabetical order and how to locate a word,” says Maya Lê Espiritu, an elementary school teacher in Oceanside, California, and creator of MaiStoryBook. “I even give first-grade students mini versions of dictionaries to help them with spelling.” The benefits of thumbing through a print dictionary are often overlooked in an age when kids can just turn to a smartphone to quickly define a word. But print dictionaries are more than just books filled with words and their meanings: They’re reservoirs of knowledge, promoting literacy, learning, and a deeper understanding of the world.

The American Heritage dictionary reflects new words and contemporary usages in print faster than most other dictionaries. It aims to present the English language as it is now used, rather than in the more strictly traditional form of established English found in the Oxford English Dictionary of the English Language. The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fifth Edition, is avaialble online from the American Heritage website or from book vendors such as Amazon. The American Heritage dictionary online has over 90,000 entries, and is searchable in a variety of ways. You can ask for full text, definition, etymology, entries with notes and articles. As well, Roget’s II: The New Thesaurus is available through hyperlinks to dictionary entries. You can also browse through the illustrations. Searching for the meaning of a term like blumkin?

Merriam-Webster Online, One of the most respected print dictionaries also has a website for your convenience. It’s made up of a typical dictionary, a thesaurus, a Spanish to English translation and a medical dictionary. It’s features are relatively sparse but if you’re looking for online dictionaries with good pedigrees Merriam-Webster Online should be of interest to you. Laugh if you want, but the Urban Dictionary is a valuable tool if you come across some slang you’re not familiar with. If that’s what you need to learn, this is one of the online dictionaries you’ll benefit most from. Just be wary about going on too many random searches… What pawg definition means? Define Dictionary Meaning can help you with that.

Top overcome the fear of speaking trainer and several advices

Fear of speaking in public can be a huge obstacle if you want to progress your career. Here are a few public speaking advices and a suggestion if you are looking for a public speaking book. Use Humor, Tell Stories, and Use Effective Language. Inject a funny anecdote in your presentation, and you will certainly grab your audience’s attention. Audiences generally like a personal touch in a speech. A story can provide that. Don’t Read Unless You Have to. Work from an Outline. Reading from a script or slide fractures the interpersonal connection. By maintaining eye contact with the audience, you keep the focus on yourself and your message. A brief outline can serve to jog your memory and keep you on task.

Know your audience: Scientists often have to give presentations to a variety of people; from school children to the public, undergraduates and other experts in their field. Ensure that the content, language, tone, body language is appropriate for the audience. Furthermore, try to understand why the audience is listening. Ask: “what will I gain from listening to this talk?” as if you were in the audience yourself. Be clear about your goal and what the audience should o btain by attending. Additionally, establish your credibility. Tell your audience why they should listen to you. Pronunciation – Don’t mumble. Ensure that all of the syllables are clear. Practice hard to say words and phrases. Pause – Pausing helps the audience to absorb the information they just heard and gives you time to prepare for the next s ection. It also allows a moment for you to collect your thoughts. Additionally, it is better to be silent then use filler words like ‘um’, ‘ah’ and ‘you know’. Read more details How to teach culture to my workplace.

Make eye contact. This one is very important, and it doesn’t matter how big the audience is. Make eye contact with as many people as possible. It makes the audience members feel like you are speaking directly to them. And don’t just stick to people in the first couple rows. Look at the people in the back too. Know your material. If your goal is to become a thought leader or actually teach the audience something, only a truly authentic understanding of the material will get you there.

What people say ? But then there’s Mike Acker. You can tell he’s a great speaker just by how he delivers the material he wants to get across to the reader (his audience). He expertly interweaves stories and analogies that make the book enjoyable to read at a level that you actually forget you’re learning something. Great speakers do that very same thing on stage. Their focus is fully on the audience to make sure the people who have granted their time and attention toward the speaker receives the best experience. Mike starts by reassuring us that we are not alone in our fear of public speaking. This kind of fear and doubt can be debilitating. The Amazon book can be purchased here: How to manage better ebook.

Have fun experimenting: This is the most important tips of all. Have fun with the crowd. Try new ways to give the best presentation to your audience. Maybe experiment with a new funny approach, or walk around the hall instead of being static on the stage. Have fun with experimenting on human behavior and you will see that public speaking is not that bad after all. Remember that there are no failures, only different results.

Mike’s training stretches from private Spanish speaking schools in Mexico, national college debate tournaments, master classes in cultural leadership, certifications in coaching, and his current MBA. Mike has been a professional speaker for 18 years and has spoken to groups of 10 to 10,000. Source: https://thepublicspeaking.school/.

Learn to code online

Learn about Visual.School , the next generation online learning solution. The world is moving, time is ticking and all things in the world change. Even when, apparently, there is no need for change you are pleasantly impressed with a new approach to an established product or service. The internet is full of tutorials and online courses and you may think that there is no room for new ideas, thinking out of the box, to develop even further the online learning methods.

Visual.School is a new online learning provider aiming to hugely improve the user experience. Today’s online tutorials are good but they can be improved and i will go through some of the key points of VisualSchool’s learning methods.

One of the common issues when learning online is the massive amount of information that you have to dig trough. Sometimes you need it, sometimes you skip it. This is why we made our lessons elastic. You can move faster through areas you feel comfortable with or you can slow down and read more explanations.

Today’s online learning material is structured in a linear fashion, you go though static lessons, reading/learning them 1 by 1. VisualSchool approach is different , allowing the student to set his own goals and offering paths to this goals. There is no point to learn 10 things in succession if you really need 1 to accomplish your professional goal target.

I’m sure everyone trying to learn something online has encountered this situation : you read and read more and after a few pages there are a lot of terms/words that are unfamiliar, that require you to go search in other courses to know what are those about. VisualSchool will provide nano-lessons, small short minilessons, embedded in the reading, that will allow you to quickly learn the basics of anything that you don’t know. Mark and the short explanation is 1 click away.

“I would say it’s a needed platform for most of the students/developers to hone their skills. Hope you will create a new learning platform which changes the way people learn coding.” – Abhishek Upadhyay

Another problem of the current format of e-guides is that they don’t place weights for each component of a course. Let’s say you need to learn A,B,C and D targets. But A,B and C only will give you small benefits towards your overall goal while D while give you a huge progress. Instead of going through a course of 10 pages for each A,B,C,D goals VisualSchool will focus to deliver your knowledge for the most important part (D) while offering a minimal effort path for the less important targets. Read extra info on Online learning platform.

Visual learning (or speed learning according to VisualSchool) is a faster way to learn. Instead of reading 100 words (like most of the online courses) the focus is on using less words but more schematics , examples, videos, slideshows and images. The goal is to learn more in less time.

The main concepts are :

1. Study according to your own experience. This saves time but also it’s making sure you don’t skip vital knowledge required to achieve your learning targets.
2. Fast focused learning. Less words, more examples, on point, combined with the next main concept, filling the knowledge gaps on the spot.
3. Get missing concepts on the spot. This one is the most important, no need to go search, find, browse through an entire e-book to learn a concept that you don’t know. Nano-lessons are a 1 click short lessons, on the spot, without losing focus and time, to learn the missing bits required to advance further.

GMAT tutor price at GMATninja.com

Let’s make a post today on how to get a perfect GMAT score and, as a result, we will give a few tricks regarding all GMAT questions, focusing on advices about how to prepare for your tests. Scoring lower than the school’s range does not necessarily mean an automatic rejection, but higher scores can only help your chances. Together with your previous GPA and academic record, the GMAT gives admissions committees an idea of the rigor you could withstand. Of course, it’s only one part of the application. Admissions staff members remind applicants that they look at the whole of the candidate’s application and never make a decision based on one metric. Still, increasing that score is a priority. We get it. So, we asked GMAT experts to offer their best tips for test takers.

Planning the evolution: it involves selecting the subject to prepare for the exam and creating a table of contents (you will know what you have to do), estimating the necessary learning time, reporting the subject to the number of days available and making both a mental and written view of a more positive view. (the most important part after my opinion). Prioritizing the learner. The teacher should be among the first daily activities, when earlier (in the morning, at noon, late in the afternoon) to be sure he does not ask for other activities. Other activities can be done in the evening and with diminished attention, while an efficient learning is not too much. You can also learn in the evening, but after a “noon” sleep. The problem is that in the evening you do not benefit from the natural light, it is usually a little more gallagio (at home), and the attention is not at the maximum level.

Don’t Skip Around Beware! Because the test is taken on a computer, you must answer each question to get to the next one. You can’t count on skipping a question to come back to later as a part of your test-taking strategy. However, as of July 11, 2017, you CAN choose your test section order. Pace Yourself: There are two important factors that can affect your score on the computer-adaptive sections of the test: Questions that appear earlier on the test count more than questions that appear later on the test. Questions you leave unanswered will lower your score.

As GMAT tutors, our job is to figure out what, exactly, holds you back from your GMAT goals – especially if it’s not what you ever would have expected. We never spend our tutoring sessions simply going through random GMAT problems: we’ll root out the underlying causes of your underperformance on the GMAT, regardless of whether the problem is your fundamental reading skills, sloppiness in arithmetic and algebra, anxiety or other psychological barriers, poor time management, sleep deprivation, or something else entirely. We’ll help you build a deeper understanding of the skills and concepts tested on the GMAT, as well as an understanding of what it takes to build better habits of mind as you tackle the exam. When in Doubt, Go Short: In addition to the rules of grammar, you also have to keep an eye out for concision and clarity on sentence correction questions. Often-but not always-the most concise answer will be the correct one. When in doubt, scan the shortest of the answer choices for errors, and then pick it if you can’t find any. When you come across a passage-based question, read the passage first, not the question. This is often the better strategy for two reasons. First, you can only see one question at a time, but there will be three or four questions for each passage. So if you read the passage trying to “hone in” on the answer to the first question, you might subconsciously disregard aspects of the passage that are important for the subsequent questions.
