Profectus Biotech and Medisun Medical Group today announced the opening of a new joint venture in Hong Kong. The primary mission of the new company, ProMed BioSciences, Ltd., is to establish a leading vaccine company focused on the development of preventive and therapeutic vaccines for infectious diseases and cancer. The company’s first product development program will focus on the development, production and commercial application of prophylactic and therapeutic vaccines for HPV (human papillomavirus)-related lesions and cervical cancer [based on PBSVax® technology developed by Profectus]. ProMed BioSciences also plans to develop and treat hepatitis C virus (HCV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), herpes simplex virus (HSV), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
